XScape Castleford
|
The biggest indoor real snow complex in Europe is conveniently located in Castleford, a mere 25 minutes away down the M62. Xscape is a huge complex including massive climbing walls, a bowling alley, restaurant and a few cool shops; we go for the ski slope and the bar. Usually there are some rails and or a kicker or two for you to try and hurt yourself on, and always a large area to perfect your snowboarding on. There's also a bar with viewing windows to the slope, and during the year it'll be put to good use by us. Freestyle competitions will be held at Castleford at various points in the year, so keep your eyes and ears open for news on that Unfortunately we cannot offer lessons at Castleford because the price is too high. However, most of the progression of many of our members has come from the tuition and advice of other members and the use of this snow slope plus its a good laugh, and the snow ensures a soft landing when the inevitable happens. Although its very different from dryslope, you will tend to find the board glides faster, this throws alot of people off at first go from the transfer from dry to real, however if you can just about manage it, there will be plenty of other members around to help you out and give you advice!
